The objective of SPARX Japan Fund is to generate high risk-adjusted excess returns relative to the broad Japanese market over a mid- to long-term horizon through high conviction stock-picking. It follows an unconstrained, benchmark-agnostic approach to identify best-in-class global Japanese companies positioned to benefit from future growth opportunities, at an attractive price. Furthermore, the strategy does not limit the percentage of assets invested in any industry or sector and is purely the result of the portfolio manager's stock picking decisions. extensive information network established through independent investment experience in Japan since 1989.

Masakazu Takeda has over 20 years of portfolio management and financial analysis experience. Since 2006 he has been the lead portfolio manager of the Japan Focus All Cap Strategy. Since 2010 he has been part of the SPARX OneAsia investment strategy team. Mr Takeda joined SPARX in 1999 as a research analyst and became a fund manager in 2004.
He graduated from International Christian University in 1996 with a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts.
Mr Takeda is a Chartered Member of the Security Analysts Association of Japan and also a CFA Charterholder.
